How do I put on my girdle?

You’ve just bought a new jumpsuit or corset, and you’re wondering how to put them on without struggling? Don’t panic! Our girdles are very effective, but they can be a little difficult to adjust at first. This is perfectly normal, especially if you’re wearing something new. Our high-quality fabrics are designed to offer optimum support, but they can take a little patience to get into place. So here are our tips to make putting them on a breeze!

How do I put on a wetsuit?

  1. Position the inseam correctly: Start by adjusting the seam of the suit between your thighs, just like a pair of pants. This is what brings the hooks together. If the seam isn’t positioned correctly, you won’t be able to close the suit properly.
  2. Pull up: Put on the suit, pulling it up high. Remember to pull at the back, front and sides to ensure a snug fit. Make sure the seams follow the line of your buttocks to avoid creases.
  3. Adjust the straps: Once the suit is securely in place, put on the straps and adjust them to your size. Then give the suit a final tug before starting to fasten the notches, starting at the bottom.

A quick reminder: if you have opted for a post-operative suit, we recommend that you wear it day and night for at least 3 months after the operation. If you can, extend its use for a further 3 months, at least during the day or at night. For optimum effect, you should also wear a compression plate underneath the suit to limit oedema, reattach the skin to the muscles, and prevent creases from forming.

If you want a little more compression, you can start wearing a corset from the first month post-op. This corset is worn over the wetsuit and compression plate, but only during the day.

How do I put on a corset?

  1. Position it well: Place your corset high up in the back, and just below the bust. You may notice a gap of about 10 cm between the two sides – this is perfectly normal.
  2. Tie it on:
    • If you’re on your own, take the corset from the bottom of each side and start fastening the notches from the bottom up.
    • If you’re accompanied, ask the person to help you: she’ll take the corset at the bottom, and pull hard to close it. You grab the corset in the middle, and pull hard too. She can then fasten the notches on the way up.

Tips for the corset: The corset should be worn all day, ideally 8 hours or more if you have a long day. Take it off at night, and avoid bending over or making movements that strain your abdominal muscles, such as sit-ups. To be comfortable, remember to keep your posture upright, especially when sitting.

By following these simple steps, you’ll look and feel your best all day long! ✨
